Job Description:
Branch Manager Salary Range-$72,563.00- $84,615.51 Job Summary:
To direct and supervise branch staff in building relationships and
providing quality service to members in the areas of account
transactions, loan applications, new accounts, and solving problems
within established policies and guidelines. Ensures the branch
meets organizational financial, productivity, operational, service,
growth plans, and goals needed to support business plan objectives.
Responsible for cash management and safety of the branch location.
Actively works to train and develop staff to perform at a high
level and meet assigned goals. Underwrites loans within guidelines
and limits. Ensures the safety of organization by following all
branch protocol. Supervisory Responsibilities: Hires, trains,
mentors, and motivates qualified employees. Oversees the day-to-day
operations and workflow of the branch. Responsible for physical
safety, cash management, and facilities maintenance of the branch
location. Manage employee performance. Conduct performance
evaluations and actions that are timely and constructive. Conducts
prompt and thorough coaching and counseling. Prepares required
documentation and recommendations for promotion and salary
adjustment, probation, or termination as appropriate. Conducts
termination meetings and counseling sessions that are final in
nature with the presence of HR or the AVP of Retail.
Duties/Responsibilities: Sets the individual goals for the staff
within the department that are intended to meet and or exceed the
department’s goals as related to the overall credit union business
plan. Collaborates with other Branch and Department Managers to
ensure the availability of the tools and/or training needed to
assist in meeting these goals. Responsible for managing and meeting
individual and department goals. Set goals and performance
standards. Standards may be based on financial and operational
goals and required compliance with internal policy and procedure
and by local, state, and federal regulations. Identifies training
needs and opportunities; develops and implements a plan for meeting
those needs. Maintains and develops positive relationships with
existing and prospective members demonstrating excellent member
service and setting an example for other staff. Participates in
community activities to promote the credit union and to build
goodwill. Performs business development to increase membership.
Collaborates with peers and the Vice Presidents regarding
advertising, marketing, and growth campaigns. Underwrites loans
within lending authority and within the credit union guidelines.
Manages loan queues for all direct staff in accordance with
guidelines. Ensures that the branch follows internal controls,
policies, and procedures, and operates within the requirements of
state and federal laws and regulations. Tracks office activity,
including but not limited to; number of transactions, volume, staff
errors, staff and loan sales, and new accounts and provides
information to senior management. Schedules, and coordinates in the
planning and management for staffing coverage at your location, as
well as assisting in coverage in other branch locations. Manages
the security and safety of the branch, which relates to employees,
members, and the overall branch/facility. Manages and recommends
purchase of equipment and supplies required to conduct business.
Participates in preparation and implementation of the strategic
plan and budget for the branch that is consistent with the overall
strategic plan and budget for the credit union. Participates in the
planning and implementation of systems, processes, and procedures
as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Conducts
regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are
clearly communicated with branch staff; provides guidance and
leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives.
Supports and provides back up subordinate positions to ensure
performance standards and member’s financial needs are met.

key skills and high aptitude and adaptability with programs
utilized in the banking industry. Intermediate skills in Microsoft
Excel (including building complex formulas, tables, and charts).
Working knowledge of MS Word. Strong aptitude to learn and adapt
quickly to all systems, websites and programs as required of the
position. Working knowledge of email systems, and tasks/calendar
systems such as MS Outlook. Certificates and Licenses: NMLS
Registry (Set up through Credit Union) Colorado Notary (Set up
through Credit Union) Credit Union Medallion Program (Set up
through Credit Union) Education and Experience: Associate degree
and/or equivalent industry experience required. Bachelor’s degree
preferred. May consider completion of 2 years of college plus the
completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors,
and job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program
or focused on the job training in a like role. At least three years
of experience in a branch to include a minimum of one year serving
as a branch assistant manager highly preferred. Physical
Requirements: Physical/Environmental Characteristics: Essential
duties are performed in a general office work environment and
regularly require prolonged sitting and standing at a
workstation/desk while completing paperwork or using computers,
calculators, copiers, fax machines and other business office
machines and equipment. Essential duties may also involve
occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, walking, crouching,
stooping, and lifting up-to 30 pounds to stack, store supplies or
various office equipment, as directed. Compliance to security and
safety procedures, including use of Personal Protective Equipment
