ER Outpatient Technician--Welcome to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC)! We are a 24/7 Emergency Care Veterinary Hospital with 7 different Specialties. The AESC Team is growing, and we are seeking motivated, positive and compassionate individuals to join our team. Our Outpatient Technician plays a vital role in the hospital, providing critical care, assisting with diagnostics and treatments, and communicating medical updates and treatment plans to pet owners.Compensation:$25 - $34 depending on experienceAnticipated Schedule:Full TimeSundays through Wednesdays10am-8pmAbout the Role:The ER Outpatient Technician's primary responsibility is to triage patients as they present to the Emergency Room according to triage levels. Assess pets and provide immediate lifesaving care under the direction of the ER doctor as required for critical patients.-- Provides history, vitals, and concerns to doctors to assist in the timely and appropriate management of emergency patients.-- Works with float technicians and assistants to perform diagnostics, execute a treatment plan and/or hospitalize the patient.-- Communicate medical updates, financial, and treatment plans to owners.Essential Job Responsibilities:Provides excellent patient care to every patientTriage patients as they come into the ER with appropriate medical decision making and escalation to ER doctor as appropriate.Obtaining history and vital signs of the petAssist DVM's with exams, treatments and proceduresImmediately respond to STAT calls and follow the appropriate patient care protocolsPerform standard technician duties including patient restraint, venipuncture, SQ Fluids, radiographs, medication administration as ordered by a veterinarian, obtain and process laboratory samples, handle and dispense medications by veterinarian ordersPerform sedation and anesthesia according to established hospital protocols (induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery).Maintain accurate paperless medical records utilizing EzyVet and SmartflowDemonstrate working knowledge of financial and charging practices including creating estimates and discussing with the owners, collecting payment and discharging patients.Collaborate with all departments across the hospital to ensure that all patients are receiving the best possible patient careDemonstrate compassion and care in all interactionsAttend department and staff meetingsContribute to the overall needs, cleanliness and organization of the hospital.Other duties as needed.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience requiredHigh school diploma or equivalentColorado Registered Veterinary Technician or the ability to become registered upon hireFluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!Preferred Qualifications:At least 1 Veterinary Technician experience in an Emergency or Specialty PracticeAbility to multitask and anticipate needsExcellent communication skills in all areas including clients, staff, and leadershipGreat work ethic and positive attitudeAbility to adhere to strict attendance policiesAbility to handle fluctuation caseload and emergency situations.Benefits:We're committed to supporting our team's well-being and professional growth with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance to keep you and your family covered.401(k) with Matching to help you plan for your future.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for additional personal and professional support.Continuing Education (CE):Annual CE hours to advance your skills.CE allowance for training and certifications.Uniform Allowance to ensure you're always prepared.Shift Differential Pay for added compensation.Generous paid time off, including:Sick DaysVacation DaysBereavement LeaveHoliday Premium Pay for working during special times of the year.On-Call Incentives for additional opportunities.License Reimbursement for required certifications.Referral Program to reward you for helping us grow our team.Why Choose AESC?Work alongside a compassionate, dedicated team of veterinary professionals.Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.Make a direct impact on the lives of pets and their families during critical times.Receive continuous training and growth opportunities-we're passionate about teaching!Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.How to ApplySubmit your application online.
