Job Type Part-timeDescriptionWage: $16.98 - $19.96 HourlyJob Type: Part-Time (26 hours)Closing Date: 1/16/2023 or until filledThe Lending Services Associate provides interlibrary services to customers in using the collections of other libraries and/or facilitates use of the book club kits. This position coordinates interlibrary loan functions with representatives of other library systems and manages the loaning and borrowing of shared items. This role requires successful performance of repetitive, detail-oriented tasks with a high degree of accuracy, including file management and record keeping.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:50% Prospector and Book Club Kit Administration:Demonstrates effective administrative knowledge of all Douglas County Libraries (DCL) and Prospector policies, processes, systems and services.Accurately and efficiently handles administrative duties for Prospector and book club kits, which include receiving and processing loan requests and materials.Demonstrates knowledge of DCL collections and circulation functions to efficiently serve internal and external customers.20% Customer Support - Internal and External:Effectively communicates with customers to explain Prospector & book club kit guidelines, responds to questions, initiates follow-up calls on overdue materials and explains charges and fees.Supports branch staff with branch processes as they relate to Prospector and book club software and circulation.20% Database/Software Maintenance:Maintains synchronization between databases and customer records.Reconciles items between ILS and shared lending software.10% Administrative Responsibilities:Stays current on DCL emails, meetings, trainings, processes, procedures and technologies required to perform work duties.Collaborates with the Collection Acquisition Librarians to biannually evaluate and remove book club kits that are not performing.Maintains and compiles accurate monthly statistics for DCL.Proactively handles change management initiatives and works collaboratively both within the department and DCL.Stimulates collaborative, seamless relationships with co-workers and branch staff, thereby contributing to a cohesive organization that supports a positive culture and achieves strategic plan.Maintains expert knowledge and use of computers, Microsoft Office Products, DCL information databases, and learning software. Preferred Associate or Bachelor's degreePrevious library experience A combination of experience and education will be considered. Physical Requirements: Must have the physical ability, stamina, mobility and manual dexterity to support a 7-day a week operation. Work at computer stations for extended periods. Access and transport materials up to 35 pounds. Participate in meetings and events at various locations and at varied times throughout the day. Ability to read as small as 8pt font.Salary Description $16.98 - $19.96/ hour
