warfighter. In this position, the candidate will work directly with
technical teams to maintain, secure, and optimize IT, network, and
data systems, ensuring high service availability, performance, and
security. Key responsibilities include managing data protection,
implementing automation, and overseeing infrastructure capacity
planning. Serve as a liaison between technical staff and
management, ensuring compliance with standards. The Lead will be
required to understand system level software architecture and how
the software is utilized in the mission spaces and how to decompose
customer requests into stories without formal requirements guiding
the process, understanding the best software development practices
and the full software development lifecycle. The candidate will be
expected to have leadership skills in the areas of motivating a
large agile team that supports multiple products, handle
prioritization with requests coming from multiple internal and
external customers and understanding of when to delegate tasks or
take them on yourself to prevent distracting the team. A solid
grasp of the software development lifecycle and best practices is
critical, including version control, testing, and continuous
integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). The Software Engineer
will work within an Agile team supporting multiple software
products, prioritizing enhancements and bug fixes, and managing
tasks efficiently to ensure smooth delivery of quality software.
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Software Engineer
(Level 5) to perform as a Infrastructure/Environment Lead in
supporting the Advanced Capabilities Business Unit (BU). This
position would be based in Aurora, CO. Responsibilities include but
are not limited to: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs
applications software and systems that contain logical and
mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and
collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in
the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic
data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to
resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data
acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares
operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and
assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures
software standards are met. Basic Requirements: Staff Software
Engineer (Level 5): Bachelor’s degree in Science with 12 years of
software development experience; 10 years with a Master's; or 4
additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a
degree. Active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required at
time of application. Must have an established understanding of the
Java Programming Language (Required for support of design,
implementation, testing, code reviews, etc.) Must have a good
understanding of Git (Required for support of releases, patching,
pipeline, developer support, etc.) Must have a good understanding
of Kubernetes/Helm (Required for support of deployments,
environment support, and IT&D integration, etc.) Must have a
good understanding of Databases (Not specifically but at least some
experience with one of the following: Elastic, Mongo, MySQL)
Experience with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Configuration
Management, Integration Test and Development (not necessarily
acting as, but working directly with) Preferred Requirements:
Experience with REST architecture Experience as a full-stack
developer Experience with software development on Red Hat
Enterprise Linux Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence,
Bitbucket) Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health
