Schedule: 5 days/week (Winter), 4 days/week (Summer) Weekends and
Holidays may be required during Winter Season Pay: $75,000 –
$85,000 annualized, based on skills and experience Plus annual

something special! Summary As an integral member of the Loveland
leadership team, the Safety Manager is responsible for initiating
and implementing sound and compliant safety management practices
across Loveland Ski Area. Primarily responsible for Employee Safety
programs, the Safety Manager is responsible for development,
implementation, and performance audits/evaluations, of safety
related policies/procedures, OSHA required programs, and loss
prevention programs. Oversee all OSHA compliance and implementation
of industry best practices. Lead efforts in safety related
management strategy, employee engagement, employee incident
analysis, goal setting, training, tracking, and long-range
planning. Every employee is responsible for providing a positive
experience for our guests and employees, with safety and fun as our
top priorities. Essential Functions Design, develop and implement
employee safety training, policies, procedures, and programs for
all departments to meet and exceed all required state/federal
regulations, specifically including OSHA. Work closely with
departmental managers in implementation and performance evaluation
to ensure compliance with written standards. Advise/monitor
compliance with OSHA, Colorado Skier Safety Act, and other
pertinent legislation/ regulations; monitor all safety records,
deficiencies/corrective actions, and recommend
changes/improvements. Oversee and maintain emergency response
programs. Notify senior management of any apparent issues of safety
related non-compliance. Engage Loveland employees in safety by
encouraging and responding to Safety Observation Reports, oversight
of the employee Safety Committee, employee safety related
recognition, coordinating guest-facing safety tables, and
continuously initiating and improving safety engagement activities.
Work with Human Resources to manage worker's compensation claims,
including initial reporting, post incident drug/alcohol testing,
return to work programs, and related accident
investigations/tracking. Oversee all employee incident
investigations, reviews and implementation of identified corrective
and preventative measures. Track data and evaluate trends to
identify areas of focus and improvement to continuously improve
safety. Coordinate efforts with Independent Contractor personnel
operating at Loveland Ski Area; notify senior management of
apparent issues on non-compliance with established safety
procedures or requirements. Serve as an accessible, approachable
resource for employees and guests for safety-related suggestions,
questions, concerns, or other safety-related situations. Maintain a
close working relationship with Ski Industry Associations to stay
current on industry trends, programs, etc., bringing these to
Loveland, as appropriate. Assist other departments and operations,
as needed. Requirements: Requirements/Qualifications Bachelors
level degree in related field, or equivalent, preferred Specific
training/education in employee safety management and administration
Minimum 3-5 years safety management experience Previous experience
in the ski industry, preferred Supervisory experience, preferred
OSHA/safety professional certifications, preferred Possession of
(or ability to obtain) a valid Colorado Driver’s License, with an
acceptable driving record, preferred Strong working knowledge of
OSHA, general safety requirements, operations, incident
investigations, and safety trends analysis Proficiency in MS
Windows- Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Ability to
communicate clearly and professionally in English to deliver and
understand verbal and written communications Strong grammar,
proofreading, and composition skills, preferred Ability to
understand and speak basic Spanish, a plus Ability to ski or
snowboard most terrain at Loveland, preferred Ability to sit, walk
and stand frequently; lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs; and use
hands to finger/feel, as needed Ability to work in a high elevation
environment, at times in extreme weather conditions Competencies

reporting responsibility, influencing behavior and the company

investigations and trends analysis Ability to work with many
