Location: DoubleTree by Hilton Denver-AuroraEssential
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Restaurant Manager in leading, training & mentoring
restaurant team members including recruitment and hiring, coaching
development, performing evaluations, and progressive
discipline.
- Supervises the floor during meal periods to ensure that all
Jackdaw standards and steps of service are met through all guests
interactions.
- Ensures that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and
closing functions set by management are being completed each
shift.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, to
provide clear direction to the team members.
- Observes performance and encourage improvement where
necessary.
- Ensures staffing levels for all outlets are accurate based on
hotel and restaurant business levels.
- Organizes and conducts pre-shift and departmental meetings
communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as hotel
occupancy and menu changes, safety and health code,
promotions/marketing, HR related subject, etc.
- Communicates with guests and team members using a confident,
positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand
requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate
information.
- Remains calm and alert, especially during an emergency and
heavy hotel activity, serving as a role model for the team members
and other hotel team members.
- Ensures necessary standard operating procedures for all outlets
are in place and are in compliance with Federal, state, local and
O'Reilly Hospitality Management own practices. (e.g., ServSafe,
Ecosure Responsible Vendor)
- Ensures that all steps of services as outlined in training
materials are being followed daily.
- Interacts positively with our guest promoting restaurant and
hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction
of involved parties. Answer telephones in a clear voice.
- Coordinates and document reservations. Organizes special events
in the restaurant such as receptions, tastings, patio parties,
large reservations. Maintains rapport with all departments and
attend relevant meetings.
- Moves throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually
monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service
standards are met. Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste
of products and check preparation methods to determine quality.
Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for
consistency.
- Utilizes the computer to create forecast and revenue reports
and write correspondence accurately. Input and retrieve data
through hotel and restaurant procedures using the appointed Jackdaw
and hotel programs and systems.
- Ensures that all standards and hotel cash handling procedures
are met.
- Maintains cleanliness of all outlets daily.
- Solicits feedback from guests concerning the service and food &
beverage offerings in all outlets.
- Works closely with the Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage and
Director of Finance in monthly beverage inventory and quarterly
china/glass/silver/linen inventory.
- Ensures that all daily and monthly reports are detailed and
submitted in a timely matter.
- Assists the restaurant manager with working closely with
Marketing and Social Media Manager to ensure that all promotions
and collateral updates (including social media also, website
information and menu updates) are done in a timely matter.
- Assists the Restaurant Manager in planning and setting up
special events for and Piccolo bar and Lounge (e.g., Beer, wine and
spirit dinners, Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, Thanksgiving,
Christmas, Graduation, New Year's, Holiday Events, etc.)
- Embrace O'Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member
Satisfaction, Health & Wellness, and Safety culture.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or
requested. Hours:
- Due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and
include nights, weekends, and holidays. Supportive Functions:In
addition to the performance of the essential functions, this
position may be required to perform a combination of the following
supportive services, with the percentage of time performing each
function to be solely determined by the management based upon the
particular requirements of the restaurant.
- Ensures maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and
training staff on proper use, Using proper standard operating
procedures to report and fix these issues.
- Conducts competitive research and report trends and
recommendations.
- Supports the entire Food & Beverage operation including
supervising other areas if necessary, handling special projects,
running promotions, handling public relations and marketing when
asked by management.
- Attends mandatory meetings including divisional meetings, staff
meetings, etc.
- Utilizes traditional software programs such as Word, Excel,
Publisher, Canva, PowerPoint also Outlook.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Completes any other duties as assigned by the Restaurant
Manager.
- Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics which inspire
Team Members to meet moreover, exceed standards.
- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may
be established from time to time, is essential to the successful
performance of this position. Team members with irregular
attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and
including termination of employment. These actions are to be
documented by the restaurant supervisor or manager on duty.
- All team members are required to fully comply with rules and
regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel &
restaurant facilities. Team members who violate the O'Reilly
Hospitality Management, LLC handbook, will be subject to
disciplinary action.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years food and beverage/restaurant experience.
Management experience preferred.
- All team members are to adhere to safe food handling
requirements as deemed by the state and/or O'Reilly Hospitality
Management, LLC. Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel.)
- Pleasant, polite manager who maintains a neat and clean
appearance.
- Ability to motivate team members to work as a team to ensure
that food and service meet appropriate standards.
- Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously
coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate
solutions to restaurant problems.
- Strong leadership, management, organizational and communication
skills.
- The ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to deliver results.
- The ability to work well with, as well as motivate, a variety
of personality types and maintain tact and diplomacy throughout all
interactions.
- The ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Models behaviors to effectively motivate, lead, and develop the
restaurant team.
- Maintains a positive reputation within the community. Physical
Requirements of the Position:
- Requires a minimum lifting capacity of 50 pounds, i.e. one
large bag of onions or one crate of lettuce. Must be able to bend,
and lift items of 40 pounds minimum, over head for storage. Must be
able to transport food and cooking utensils with food products,
weighing as much as 10 pounds.
- May be required to lift in excess of 40 pounds on occasion.
Physical Activity of the Position:
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking,
pushing, pulling, lifting, picking/pinching with fingers, typing,
grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
