Job Description:
Job Summary The Occupational Therapy Assistant assists the
Occupational Therapist in providing rehabilitative services to
patients with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental
impairments. This is a PRN position with a monthly work
requirement. Shift differentials are offered for weekend hours. Pay
for this position is $25 - 31/h. The Details of the Job Essential
Duties and Responsibilities Observe occupational therapy patients,
and reports information and observations to Occupational Therapist.
Assist in evaluation of clients' daily living skills and capacities
to determine extent of abilities and limitations. Assist in
planning and implementing educational, vocational, and recreational
programs and activities established by the Occupational Therapist,
designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance task performances,
diminish or correct pathology, and to promote and maintain health
and self-sufficiency. Design and adapt equipment and working-living
environment. Fabricate splints and other assistant devices. Assist
in instructing patient and family regarding in-home programs as
well as care and use of adaptive equipment. Prepare work materials,
assist in maintenance of equipment, and order supplies. May be
responsible for maintaining observed information in client records
and preparing reports. May teach basic living skills to
institutionalized, or developmentally disabled adults. May assist
social worker or psychologist in administering situational or
diagnostic tests to measure client's abilities or progress. Meet

Practices. Maintain confidentiality of Personal Identifiable
Information (PII) in accordance with company Policies and State and
Federal laws, including OHSA and HIPAA regulations. Perform job in
accordance with all company safety practices. Other duties as
assigned. Requirements What it Takes to Do the Job Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the information, techniques and
equipment needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases,
and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives,
drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care
measures. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the
strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or
approaches to problems. Ability to use deductive reasoning to apply
general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make
sense, as well as inductive reasoning to combine pieces of
information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding
a relationship among seemingly unrelated events). Knowledge of
medical safety hazards and precautions, and skill in applying
principles of asepsis and infection control. Ability to communicate
with different audiences in a simple, clear and concise manner.
Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines. Ability
to identify when confidentiality, discretion and judgment are
needed, and exhibit these traits appropriately. Ability to keep
detailed reports, and use information technology including email
and web navigation, clinical EMR, and Microsoft Suite programs.
Education, Experience and Certificates Associate degree for
Occupational Therapy Assistant required. CPR certification
required. BLS certification required. Current Colorado Occupational
Therapist Assistant license required. Notice This job description
