Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/26/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool night position requiring two years of MS-Tele experience and a CO or compact RN license. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Position is in a hospital acute care setting as part of the Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool - Float to multiple units across Zone 3 within a 60-mile radius of Denver, covering specialties such as Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation - Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with a variety of medical, surgical, and specialty diagnoses - Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5-6 based on acuity - Some assignments may include heparin drip titration and use of RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP - Uses the Epic EMR system - Night shift position with 12-hour shifts - Requires 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule - Travelers are expected to float throughout the entire designated float zone (no home base facility) - May be assigned to MS-Tele, ICU (low-acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown based on skillset - Rare call or standby required for low census - Unit has designated charge nurses and support from nurse aides - Travelers must secure housing that allows floating to any facility within the assigned zone - Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor and is required to be completed in-state - First float assignment will be communicated prior to start date - Scrub color is flexible; any color is allowed - All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment - May be required to participate in holiday scheduling rotation - Radius rule: candidates must live at least 60 miles from the float zone’s city center to be eligible - Candidates who have worked for CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible /n /n Requirements/n - Active CO or compact RN license is required before consideration - Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications - Minimum of 2 years recent MS-Tele experience - Prefer prior neuro experience - Ability to float to multiple facilities within a 60-mile zone - Valid driver's license must be available for consideration - Two professional references are required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-653284.
