Job Description:
The surgical advanced practice provider (APP) provides patient
care in multiple settings, including inpatient units, outpatient
clinics and all perioperative areas including the operating room.
Under the direction and supervision of the neurosurgeon, the APP
performs first assistant surgical duties including patient
positioning, tissue manipulation, retraction, suturing and other
duties delegated by the surgeon. The surgical APP manages acute and
chronic conditions. Formulates plans that include diagnosis,
treatment, psychosocial support, health education and counseling.
Collaborates with other health professionals in assessing and
managing health care problems to maintain continuity of care and
coordinates services. Contributes to the development, maintenance,
evaluation, and changes related to the health care delivery within
the neurosurgical practice and AdventHealth hospital sites.
