Summary:
The General Manager, North America will be responsible for five key
areas:
- Driving double-digit growth for a $640M USD P&L across the
US and Canada, with an emphasis on advocacy and digital-first
strategies through independent pet, e-commerce, and strategic key
accounts.
- Building and developing an effective team by recruiting for
future needs, developing current staff, and anticipating
capabilities like connected commerce, as well as developing build
and buy strategies.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to deploy portfolio
strategies and innovations that align existing brands and new
propositions with market insights and category trends.
- Leading and adapting between push and pull business models,
accelerating into e-commerce and digital businesses, and building
strategic customer relationships.
- Participating actively in the Champion leadership team, role
modeling core principles and behaviors. This role reports to the
President and sits on a cross-functional leadership team.
Typical Day:
Build Long Term Strategy & Deliver P&L
- Develop strategies to accelerate growth in North America with a
digital and advocacy focus.
- Create portfolio and supply chain alignment plans for various
channels.
- Manage revenue, expenses, and operational metrics, aligning
with sales and marketing strategies.
- Implement sales and advocacy plans to grow sales across
channels.
- Manage key accounts and develop customer relationships with an
advocacy-first approach.
Building the Team
- Define organizational needs and attract talent to support
growth.
- Develop a professional sales and distribution network.
- Lead through communication, coaching, and performance
management.
- Hire and build a high-performing team with a digital-first
mindset.
Building the Brand & Customers
- Lead joint business planning with strategic customers.
- Set and monitor market strategies with marketing
leadership.
- Utilize data and insights for strategic decisions and growth
planning.
- Support brand and marketing initiatives to increase
velocity.
- Drive advocacy and digital partnerships to grow the
business.
- Use analytics to inform forecasts and business plans.
- Support broader organizational initiatives as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary: USD $300,000-$450,000 plus bonus and 401k
matching.
