Do you love the outdoors? If you have a passion for the outdoors we have an exciting opportunity for a Store Manager for our 1 year old Castle Rock Outlet location. This position will manage, lead, and direct the business for the Exxel Outdoors, Castle Rock store location, including store sales generation, customer service, clientelling, store profitability, merchandising, marketing, housekeeping, training, growing and developing customer base and regular communication with the corporate office on product, inventory needs and pricing. Responsibility to communicate store needs to appropriate department within company, to be the driver of sales and product within the store location. Store Manager should act as business owner owning all aspects of the business and using the corporate office as a resource, and a center to provide tools and services that will assist in growing the stores overall business. This is a brand-new store location so new store opening experience is key.Exxel Outdoors is a leading, global provider of innovative outdoor recreation products. We also own and operate the largest sleeping bag manufacturing facility in the U.S. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: MANAGEMENT ELEMENTS

  • Represents Exxel Outdoors in a professional manner, acts as a positive Role Model to our associates and customers.
  • Is the champion of selling skills training in store, and emulates this behavior, recognizes and rewards this with store associates.
  • Achieves or exceeds UPT, average transaction and gross margin goals; achieves or exceeds store sales plan ensures awareness of sales plan, weekly, monthly and annual performance.
  • Achieves established net margin profit goals.
  • Ensures inventory levels in the store.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the store.
  • Sets the tone and pace for customer service expectations in the store.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Defines and exceeds customer needs in a positive manner.
  • Ensures a high level of customer interaction, suggestive selling and enthusiasm from store staff members.
  • Proactively manages store.
  • Effectively promotes online orders when appropriate.
  • Communicates effectively with the corporate office regarding any business needs to improve profitability of the business.
  • Maintains all housekeeping standards and repairs within store, either through the store team, the landlord or approved outside resources.
  • Review of Daily numbers, flash, plan, both Sales and Margin, with associates. DEVELOPMENT OF SUBORDINATES
    • Development of store associates, including completion of the New Associate Training checklist and orientation, product training, education on selling skills and in store vendor training.
    • Trains, mentors, and develops store associates to effectively perform their job responsibilities, achieve sales and meet customers' needs.
    • Focuses on creating bench strength within stores by clearly communicating company goals, expectations and objectives in the development of associates, and holding associates accountable and responsible for the standards.
    • Supervises associates engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions, and performs work of associates, as needed.
    • Trains store associates in merchandise presentation and stockroom organization.
    • Utilizes training tools such as product training, videos, product catalogs, internet research, etc. to ensure associates are trained and well prepared.
    • Creates, reviews and approves work schedules and assigns associates to specific duties. Completes and approves payroll timely by Sunday evening every other Sunday.
    • Coaches, counsels associates, and completes performance reviews in a timely manner
    • Completes and/or oversees the completion of the Weekly and Monthly Management Audit forms and the responsibilities listed within. MERCHANDISING
      • Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers preparing merchandise displays.
      • Follows and executes directives on visual merchandise; makes appropriate/creative adjustments as needed. Conducts own visual and presentation audits.
      • Reviews allocations from Merchandise Planning, determines min max levels of inventory and manages the product flow within the store location. Communicating with merchandising until agreement is reached on inventory levels.
      • Ensures proper assembly of store fixtures and merchandise for visual display.
      • Maintains an awareness of competitors and communicates this with Merchandising.
      • Delegates and effectively handles all inventory control-related issues such as negative on hands, research of discrepancies, accurate pricing, etc.
      • Ensures al store pricing, signage and markdowns are completed. MARKETING
        • Understands and promotes multiple store marketing programs and in-store events.
        • Creating new, as well as maintaining successful in store events and Posting store events monthly
        • Distribution of catalogs within community with appropriate business partners.
        • Is responsible for working within the community to Market the business in appropriate venues by creating a marketing strategy and approach in the area where store is located.
        • Be the driving in-store marketing liaison.
        • Other duties may be assigned as needed based on business trends.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES Manages 3 subordinates. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and professionally before customers and associates within the organization.
