Clearance Status: Not Required As the Director of Carbon
Engineering, you will lead the engineering teams that provide
support to the production of carbon brake manufacturing at three of
our Associate Manufacturing Facilities (AMF) located in Pueblo, CO;
Spokane, WA; and Santa Fe Springs, CA. This role also oversees the
Dyno Test Lab and the Carbon R&D department. In this role, you
will manage the department’s operations and staff while ensuring
goals related to safety, product integrity, quality, on-time
delivery, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and
continuous improvement. This engineering department is responsible
for all technical aspects of carbon brake production and
refurbishment programs that impact product integrity. The
responsibilities also include investigating product or process
issues, managing engineering change notices (ECNs), and supporting
the material review board (MRB). The team also develops and
standardizes processes across the three sites, provides daily
manufacturing support, and helps introduce new products, equipment
and technologies. This is an onsite role based in Pueblo, Co.
Relocation assistance is available. What You Will Do: Set and
execute carbon technology strategy, driving R&D initiatives,
innovation, and intellectual property development. Ensure product
integrity and performance across the full lifecycle from raw
material qualification through production, refurbishment, and
end-of-life. Oversee engineering testing, process performance
monitoring, and product/process investigations to maintain quality
and reliability. Partner with operations, supply chain, quality,
and global engineering teams to support manufacturing performance
and continuous improvement. Lead departmental operations including
budgets, talent development, compliance, and multi-site engineering
standards, while fostering a strong, people-focused culture. Ensure
compliance with product integrity, safety, export regulations,
ethics, and environmental standards Drive performance in quality,
on-time delivery, and continuous improvement. Travel up to 20%;
predominantly domestic travel. Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or
Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience
in manufacturing, materials or process engineering or an Advanced
Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience in
manufacturing, materials or process engineering 5 years of
engineering leadership experience (people, operations, budgets,
strategy) Experience in product integrity, quality systems, and
engineering change management (e.g., ECNs, MRB, root cause
investigations). Experience with new product introduction (NPI),
product qualification, or process qualification Qualifications We
Prefer: Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering or Materials
Science Multi-site managerial experience Experience with carbon
materials, friction materials, or braking systems Experience with
aerospace or other highly regulatory environments Background in
R&D leadership or technology strategy Familiarity with dyno

for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range
provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience
