Senior Platform EngineerAbout the Role:
At Fideo, we're building the foundation to combat fraud at scale,
transforming massive datasets into real-time insights that protect
people and organizations worldwide. As a Senior Platform Engineer,
you'll focus on creating reliable, high-performance systems that
power our fraud detection platform. Your work will ensure that our
real-time data systems and APIs are resilient, fast, and scalable
under load.This role emphasizes hands-on engineering and
system-level problem-solving. You'll be responsible for designing
and optimizing real-time pipelines, debugging distributed systems,
and building high-throughput microservices to support billions of
data points. Whether tackling latency issues, scaling APIs, or
implementing new observability tools, you'll play a key role in
ensuring the reliability of our platform.You'll collaborate with a
close-knit, highly skilled team of engineers to design solutions
for real-world problems, contributing to everything from API
development to infrastructure automation. This is an opportunity to

problems, and ensure the systems you build can handle the demands

hands-on engineer who combines technical expertise with a proactive
approach to problem-solving.Core Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize real-time data pipelines and streaming
systems for low latency and high throughput.
- Develop scalable microservices to handle high volumes of
requests with reliability and fault tolerance.
- Maintain and enhance real-time data ingestion and delivery
systems using tools like Kafka and ClickHouse.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in distributed systems, optimizing
performance across all layers.
- Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure
platform reliability.
- Manage infrastructure changes and CI/CD pipelines with a
DevOps-first mindset.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver
impactful solutions.
- Document systems and workflows, contributing to process and
technology improvements.Requirements:
- 6+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on real-time
systems and platform engineering.
- Expertise in building and scaling microservices using Java,
Scala, or GoLang.
- Strong experience with streaming platforms like Kafka and
event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency with NoSQL databases such as ClickHouse, Scylla, or
Cassandra.
- Experience with traditional RDBMS systems like MySQL or
Postgres.
- Deep knowledge of debugging distributed systems and diagnosing
issues in real-time applications.
- Strong understanding of networking, including DNS, load
balancing, and latency optimization.
- Expertise in AWS cloud services and deploying cloud-native
services.
- Skilled in CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like
Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like
Terraform.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana,
Prometheus, or PagerDuty.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to document
technical processes clearly.
- Proficiency in developing and extending APIs which experience
thousands of requests per second
- Experience developing network edge tier systems controlling
access to internal customer APIs
- Experience developing OAuth 2.0-based access control APIs
- Proficiency developing product features for customer facing
data APIsNice to Have:
- Hands on experience working with ML models and AI
- Background in financial or fintech space with an understanding

- $140,000 - $165,000 base plus company-based bonus plan and
equity.
