Job Title: Middle School Track and Field CoachLocation: Villa Bella Expeditionary, Pueblo, COReports To: Athletic Coordinator / School PrincipalJob Type: Part-Time / SeasonalJob Summary:The Middle School Track and Field Coach is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive track and field program for students in grades 6-8. This includes teaching fundamental techniques for running, jumping, and throwing events, promoting physical fitness, and fostering personal growth and teamwork in a positive environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead practices that build foundational skills in sprints, distance running, relays, jumps, and throwing events.
• Introduce proper techniques and training methods tailored to young athletes.
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and personal responsibility among student-athletes.
• Organize and oversee tryouts, meet schedules, team communication, and event logistics.
• Collaborate with assistant coaches and school staff to ensure a cohesive program.
• Supervise athletes during practices, meets, and transportation to and from events.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes through proper conditioning, warm-ups, and injury prevention.
• Encourage academic accountability and personal growth.
• Maintain and manage team equipment and uniforms.Qualifications:
  • Prior coaching experience in track and field or personal experience as an athlete.
  • Knowledge of a variety of track and field events and age-appropriate coaching techniques.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a background check per school policy.Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working with middle school-aged students.
    • Coaching certification from an accredited program (e.g., NFHS, USATF).
