We're currently seeking a well-rounded Staff Accountant who can manage day-to-day accounting functions and handle payroll processing with precision. Position Summary for Staff Accountant: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the finance function through general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and payroll processing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of accounting in a hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities of Staff Accountant: Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations Process biweekly or semi-monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports, including W-2s and 1099s Maintain the general ledger and support accurate financial reporting Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance-related activities Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed Help improve accounting procedures and internal controls Collaborate with external accountants during audits or year-end reporting Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a small business environment Proven experience processing payroll (in-house or via third-party providers such as ADP, Gusto, or Paychex) Strong knowledge of GAAP Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently Preferred Skills: Experience with payroll taxes and multi-state payroll Familiarity with project-based or job-cost accounting Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment What We Offer: Competitive salary based on experience Flexible work environment Health and wellness benefits Opportunity to grow with a close-knit, values-driven team LI-CC2 INJUN2025
