DepartmentFinancial AidSalary for AnnouncementWe anticipate the
qualified candidate to be placed between $49,900 - $66,000. The
salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based
on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal
equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above
salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable
estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of
posting.Position SummaryThis position reports directly to the
Executive Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships and is
responsible for the preparation, processing, reconciliation,
reporting, and maintenance of financial and accounting
documentation and records for federal, state, and institutional
financial aid programs - over $135 million
annually.IND208Duties/Responsibilities50% - Works closely with the
Director of Operations to manage the fiscal operations of the
financial aid programs. This includes but is not limited to
budgeting, monitoring, reconciling, and reporting federal, state,
and institutional financial aid funds, including work-study.
Prepare and submit financial aid state, federal and institutional
reports includingSURDSandFISAP. Federal responsibilities include
oversight and coordination of federal funds draw downs. Reconcile
Banner FA systems with the FederalCODsystems, including Workday.
Assist in the Direct Loan Program reconciliation process. Involves
working with Accounting and Business Services, Scholarship Area,
Internal Audit, Federal Department of Education and Colorado
Department of Higher Education. Provides leadership in working with
management team to prepare draft responses to yearly audit
findings. Is department account expert on drawdown of federal and
state funds.20% - Conduct internal fiscal audits and provide
recommendations to the Office of Financial Aid &
Scholarshipsmanagement team on the detected fiscal issues of
federal, state, and institutional financial aid rules and
regulations as they relate to current or proposed office policies
and procedures.10% - As the accounting expert for financial aid,
provides support to operations staff to resolve processing errors.
Determine source of errors, make recommendations for corrections to
sub-systems and/or train staff by explaining issues and
resolutions. Compiles and submits other reports/analysis as
requested.10% - Processes check requests in the federal Stafford
Loan program. Sets up and creates new fund codes on Banner directly
working with Accounting and the Bursar's office.8% - Works with
Director of Operations and Director of Systems & Reporting to
compile, analyze, and submits detailed spending and awarding plans
for student aid program accounts for senior management staff and
makes recommendations for necessary modifications in spending
levels of state and institutional funds.2%- Other duties as
assigned.Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with office operating budgets or accounts
payable.

- Experience handling numerous complex and routine tasks
simultaneously
- Strong human relations skills
- Experience working with a diverse group of individuals and

fiscal years.

recommend policies and procedures, preferably for institutional,
state and federal financial aid programs or operating and accounts

- AA Degree with an emphasis in Accounting and 10 years of
experience in Accounting with 5 - 7 years of those specifically in
Accounting Financial Aid Funds, or BA Degree with an emphasis in
Accounting and 6 years of experience in Accounting with 3 years of
experience specifically in Accounting Financial Aid Funds, or
Master's degree with an emphasis in Accounting and 3 years of
experience in Accounting with 0-2 years in Accounting Financial Aid
funds
- Experience with the Department of Education's fiscal,
reporting, and cash management requirements for Title IV aid
- Experience with the Colorado Department of Education's fiscal,
reporting and cash management requirements for Colorado state
aid
- Experience using the Federal GovernmentCOD(Common Origination
Disbursement) system and G5 fund drawdown.
- Experience with draw down of state and federal financial aid
funds.
- Experience with Accounting and Financial aid Banner
system.
- Experience with Access for reporting.
- The successful candidate must work with and be sensitive to the
educational needs of a diverse urban populationWork Hours
- 40 hours per week
